UPDATED: Wreck on U.S. Highway 80 results in one fatality

An 18-wheeler and a van collided early Thursday morning resulting in one fatality.
A two-vehicle accident occurring Thursday morning on U.S Highway 80 resulted in one fatality.
An 18-wheeler and a white van collided on the highway near the Demopolis Villas apartment complex around 3:16 a.m.
The deceased driver of the white van has been identified as James Williams, 28, from Star City, Ark. DPD Chief Tommie Reese said Williams was in Demopolis working construction at Rock-Tenn. The driver of the 18-wheeler suffered no injuries.
Demopolis Police Department, Demopolis Fire and Rescue and Amstar responded to the scene.
Demopolis police officers along with Alabama State Troopers have remained on the scene most of the day Thursday working the accident.
