Ruth Smith Henry

Ruth Smith Henry, 90, formerly of Orrville, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Aug. 25 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 13, 1923, in Guntersville. She spent her life as a cattleman’s wife, raising three children. She was also a great influence in helping raise nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Pat Henry; and a daughter, Cindy Sue Henry.

She is survived by a brother, Buford Smith of Guntersville; two sisters, Lyndell Smith of Guntersville and Edith Smith Beggs of Dallas, Texas; a son, Patrick Anthony (Linda) Henry; a daughter, Karen Ruth Henry; adoring grandchildren, Jessica Henry (Stephen) Connick, Daphne LeBlanc (Cory) Huff, Marni Henry (Walter) Tutt, Adrienne Henry (Hugh) Overmyer, Bryan Anthony LeBlanc, Scott Anthony LeBlanc, Michilyn Womacks (Richard) Brown, Laura Womacks (Brett) Sprayberry, and Patrick Shane (Leigh) Henry; 18 great-grandchildren, Brooks Crawford Cannon, Sawyer Bernard Connick, Clayton McClain Connick, James Wallace Tutt, Camilla Ruth Tutt, Lana Kate Huff, Lauren Brooke Huff, Wyatt Kimbrough Brown, Tristen Patrick Brown, Caroline Colby Overmyer, Hugh Henry Overmyer, Eva Kathryn Overmyer, Sarah Michael Overmyer, Selma Brooke Sprayberry, David Jackson Sprayberry, Vivian Ruth Sprayberry, Patrick Gavin Henry and Ansley Camden Henry.

She was a wonderful mother and well-loved grandmother.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, great grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Heritage Chapel in Tuscaloosa with a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Marshall Memorial Gardens in Albertville, with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home and Cremations directing. Jason Nicholson and Dr. David Teel will officiate. Visitation will be held at 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
