Another step was taken Tuesday morning toward Demopolis High School receiving new air conditioning units.

The school has been approved for a federally funded Qualified Zone Academy Bond at zero percent interest over 15 years, and two resolutions were passed Tuesday morning at a called board meeting concerning the QZAB money.

The first resolution passed established Demopolis High School as a Qualified Zone Academy. In order to qualify for this distinction, 35 percent of the student body must be on reduced or free lunches, and Demopolis meets that qualification.
