UWA moves to 12th in AFCA poll

LIVINGSTON – On the heels of a 42-6 victory over Clark Atlanta, the University of West Alabama football team moved up four places to No. 12 in this week’s American Football Coaches Association Division II Poll.

The Tigers travel to McNeese State on Saturday for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Cowboy Stadium in Lake Charles, La. The 18th ranked Cowboys (FCS) are off to a 2-0 start, defeating FBS member South Florida, 53-21, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 58-14.

West Alabama is one of four Gulf South Conference teams in the AFCA Top 25. Valdosta State (1-0) is ranked No. 1, followed by UWA (1-0), No. 22 North Alabama (1-0) and No. 25 Delta State (1-0).
