Janice Fisher Barton, 80, of Demopolis, died Friday, Sept. 27 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Tuscaloosa County to the late Leslie and Nellie Mae Hooks Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Nellie Mae Hooks Fisher; husband, William B. Barton; sister, Frances Snyder Madison; and brother-in-law, James Armstrong.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Barton Adams of Demopolis and Janis Barton (Van) Baty of Gallion; son, William Michael (Heather) Barton of Tuscaloosa; sisters, Barbara Fisher (Marvin) Sexton of Northport, Billie Fisher Armstrong of Tuscaloosa, Margie Fisher (Billy) Lovett of Austin, Texas, Martha Fisher (Charles) Hall of Northport, Jane Fisher (Larry) Evans of Northport, and Darlene Fisher (Johnny) McDaniel of Tuscaloosa; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Demopolis with Dr. Allen Atkins and the Rev. Carl Williams officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial followed at 2:30 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with a graveside service with the Rev. A.L. Courtney officiating. The family received friends Sunday, Sept. 29 from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Parker Adams, Connor Adams, Skylar Wilson, Joseph Halkias, Broughton Rogers, Mike O’Neall, Joseph Lanier and David Sexton.
Honorary pallbearers were Comfort Care Hospice, Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Pink Ladies and Campers On Mission.
