4-H, Tractor Supply team up for clover campaign

A rainy morning did not stop a few young people from coming to Tractor Suppy in Demopolis on Saturday and participating in the “Make and Take” 4-H activities offered by 4-H Agent Lucinda Mason and 4-H Regional Extension Agent Susan Thompton.
For one week each year, Tractor Supply stores across the state promote the 4-H Paper Clover Campaign, which allows customers to make a $1 donation for a paper clover. All benefits go to county 4-H programs.

About a dozen young people enjoyed making “Plant People” using potting soil, rye grass seed, ankle highs, google eyes, pompoms and hot glue. After a few days of watering their plant people, the grass will sprout, looking like hair.
The youth also made sun safety bracelets using sun beads, which change from white to different colors when exposed to the sun’s direct or indirect rays, thus showing how easy it is to get sun damage.
