West Alabama pitcher Jessica Brock has been named the Gulf South Conference pitcher of the week for her performance in the series win over Delta State.

A junior from Gallion, Brock stepped in the circle just once against Delta State to earn her first Pitcher of the Week award this season; the third of her career.

In her lone performance, she threw a complete-game shutout in the conference series opener, allowing just five hits and striking out three. Just one DSU runner made it to third base and none after the first inning.

The win gave Brock her first of the year as well as a 2.67 earned run average. She owns 19 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched.

The Tigers (7-6; 2-1) return to action Thursday as they open the home season against Stillman. The double-header is set to start at 2 p.m. at the UWA Softball Complex.
