Claudia Elizabeth Paparella

Claudia Elizabeth Paparella, 89, of Thomaston, died Monday, March 3 at the Marengo Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Thomaston. She was a former seamstress with Vanity Fair and a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pasquale Paparella.

She is survived by her sons, Vito (Linda) Paparella of Livingston, Pasquale Paparella Jr. of Millers Ferry and Clifford Paparella of Livingston; daughter, Grace Ludeman of Vineland, Frances (Bill) Eddins of Pachuta, Miss., and Ann (Reese) Barkley of Linden; four sisters, Juanita Norris of Sweet Water, Jane (Bud) Dunn of Thomaston, Bonnie (Billy) Harrison of Nicholsville and Barbara Threadgill Martin of Camden; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Sardis Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 5 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Snow and the Rev. Irby Weaver officiating. Burial was in the Holt Cemetery in Hugo.

Active pallbearers were Bryant Paparella, Brandon Ludeman, Billy Eddins, Matt Eddins, Nick Barkley, Gabe Barkley, Cliff Paparella and Jacob Harris. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sardis Baptist Church.
