Louise Phillips Dungan Thomas, 95, of Thomasville, died March 24 at Thomasville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Oct. 2, 1918, in Thomasville. She was a former nurses aid and was a former member of Springfield Methodist Protestant Church and a member of Central Baptist Church in Dixons Mills.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Lula Phillips; and her husbands, Monroe Dungan and Dillard Thomas.

She is survived by her son, Eudell H. (Bettie Lou Hill) Dungan of Grove Hill; three daughters, Mary Joyce Dungan (James Bertram “Jim”) Reeves of Jackson, Scarlet Lucille Dungan Anderson (Robert Milton) Cherry of Demopolis, and Cheryl Maxine Dungan (Terry George “Ted”) Morgan of Thomasville; two brothers, Lonnie Frank (Rose) Phillips of Okeechobee, Fla., and Vance Ellis (Grace) Phillips of Satsuma; two sisters-in-law, Grace Phillips of Milton, Fla., and Terry Phillips of Thomasville; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great, great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville on Wednesday, March 26 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service time with the Rev. Aaron Carpenter officiating. Burial followed in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.
