Patricia (Patsy) Joy Luker Coats, 64, of Gallion, died Friday, June 6 at her home.

She was born Sept. 30, 1949, to Jesse Luker and Rubye Pearl Luker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Rubye Luker; sister, Janiece Hill; and brother, Harold Luker.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel “Sammy” N. Coatsl daughters, Emily (Randy) Griffin of Franklin and Amy (Ben) Ramer of Demopolis; son, David (Ann) Coats of Helena; sisters, Fay (Dick) Porter of Gallion and Pam (Keith) Durham of Demopolis; sister-in-law, Peggy Luker of Demopolis; brothers, Kerry (Joyce) Luker of Demopolis and Jimbo (Suzanne) Luker of Homewood; grandchildren, Madelyn Joy Coats, Margaret Elizabeth Coats, Caroline Rachael Coats, Laura Catherine Coats, Samuel David Coats, Mary McKenzie Griffin, Victoria Clair Griffin, Samantha Jo Griffin, Anna Scott Bozeman, Preston Samuel Bozeman and Rollins McCall Ramer.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at Gallion Baptist Church with the Rev. Hank Atchison officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. at the church.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Mayton, Jeremy Coats, Stephen Whittington, Edward Luker, Richard Porter and Tony Luker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Black, Scott Jones, Robbie Wilkerson, Dan Stegall, Ray Luker, Willie Luker, David Luker, Paul Heany, Jeb Bailey, Todd Dunavent, Gallion Baptist Church members, Laura Etheridge and the employees of Comfort Care, Manderson Cancer Clinic at DCH, Boone’s Pharmacy, and Dr. Charles Gross and staff.
