Willie Carpenter Jr., 77, of Demopolis, passed away Tuesday, July 8 at his home.

He was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Demopolis to the late Willie Jack and Dovie Duncan Carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Jack and Dovie Duncan Carpenter; sisters, Earnestine and Nita Carpenter; and brothers, Charles, Jerry and Steve Carpenter.

He is survived by his sons, Todd Carpenter of Shelby, Scott Carpenter of Demopolis and Phil Carpenter of Demopolis; sisters, Jean Roark and Christine Gibbs; brothers, Roy Carpenter, James Carpenter, Eddie Carpenter and Bobby Carpenter; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11 at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Dennis Johnson will be officiating with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Horn, Cobey Rowley, Garry Malone, James Johnson Jr., Ronnie Willingham and Dannie Eaves.
