Alta Lee Lanier, 93, of Birmingham, passed away Thursday, July 10.

She was of the Christian faith and a proud mother of four. She enjoyed visiting the Smokey Mountains and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Jesse Alvin Lanier; her parents, Dockery Leroy Moore and Ada Bell Bennett Moore; two brothers, William Leroy Moore and Aurban David Moore; and sister, Lura Elizabeth Moore Berry.

She is survived by her four children, Mary Lee Cole, Janice Shirley (Andrew) Morgan, Alvin Kent (Jeanette) Lanier and Susan Lanier Jones; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great, great-grandchild.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 13 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at noon on Monday, July 14 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East with Christopher Morgan officiating. Jefferson Memorial in Trussville directed the services.
