Robert Marion Meigs, 61, of Demopolis, died Thursday, July 24 at UAB.

He was born May 15, 1953, in Demopolis.

He was preceded by his parents, Robert James and Wilma Barnes Meigs; and brother, William “Billy” Fell.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Violet Wyatt Meigs; daughters, Amanda (Robert) Mustain, Jessica Meigs and Stephanie Meigs, all of Demopolis; and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 28 at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. The family received friends at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Pallbearers were Paul Foster, Rex Flowers, Derrick Carter, Brian Jordan, Mitchell Snipes and Kevin Horne.

Honorary pallbearers were doctors and nurses at UAB Trauma ICU, Amstar employees, Northstar employees, TideEMS employees and chiefs, detectives, officers and support staff at Demopolis Police Department.
