Ruth Chandler Ellisor

Ruth Chandler Ellisor, 92, of Rome, Ga., passed away Friday, Sept. 26 at her residence.
She was born July 26, 1922, in Hanceville to the late George Dennis and Arizona Eleve Caudell Chandler. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama and a huge Alabama fan.
She was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She taught middle school for 29 years. She and her husband served many churches in the Alabama-West Florida Conference of United Methodist Churches. She enjoyed gardening and neeldwork, and she had a strong love for animals, especially her dog Baxter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Joe Ellisor; her brother, Earl Chandler; and sister, Reatha Chandler.
She is survived by three daughters, Judy Ellisor Fraser of Roswell, Ga., Joan Ellisor (Bob) Grizzard of Rome, Ga., and Jo Ellisor Kilpatrick of Troy; seven grandchildren, Joanie (Grant) Fraser-Ramsey, Jim Fraser, Lizzy (Scott Fisher) Fraser, Bobby (Erica) Grizzard, Jefferson Grizzard, Emily (Matthew Valdes) Grizzard, and Drew (Karli) Kilpatrick; four great-grandchildren, Luke and Andrew Poston, Harper Kilpatrick, and Patrick Grizzard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29 at noon at the First United Methodist Church of Eufaula. The Rev. Joe Reams and the Rev. Scott Hohn officiated, and burial followed in Fairview Cemetery Addition with Chapman Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Monday.
Pallbearers were Jim Fraser, Drew Kilpatrick, Jefferson Grizzard, Bob Grizzard, Grant Ramsey and Scott Fisher.
