Demopolis JROTC performs well at competition

Demopolis High School’s Junior ROTC participated in the 2014 Ultimate Challenge Competition in Tuscaloosa at Camp Horne on Thursday, Nov. 13.

Demopolis competed against students from Tuscaloosa County, Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa, Brookwood, Bryant, Central-Tuscaloosa, Walker County and Greene County high schools.

Demopolis students brought home first and second place in the female competition of the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT). The test consisted of two minutes of push-ups, two-minutes of sit-ups and a one-mile run.

Shakesaney Bell won the overall female event for the APFT, and Sylvia Clayton finished second overall and won the one mile run event.
