Eloise L. Cowart Austin of Tuscaloosa, and formerly of Demopolis, died Friday, Dec. 12, at Hamrick Highlands.

She was born March 23, 1920, in Conecuh County to the late Elly H. and Ella Yow Cowart.

She was preceded by her parents, Elly H. and Ella Yow Cowart; husband, Roy E. Austin; son, Roy E. Austin Jr.; and brothers, Elly H. Cowart Jr. and Sidney L. Cowart.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth (Buddy) Lindsay of Demopolis, Eloise (Mike) Allgood of Duncanville and Ellie Tharpe of Madisonville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15 at Kirk Funeral Homes in Demopolis with Dr. Curtis Kelley officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial followed at Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery in Conecuh County. Visitation was held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Edward Lindsay, Austin Lindsay, Michael Allgood Jr., Mike Morrison, Joey Champion and Tyler Morrison.

Honorary pallbearers were Hamrick Highland staff and Greg and Susan Hamrick.
