George Everett Thomas, 85, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, at Hale County Hospital.

He was born Jan. 7, 1929, in Hale County to the late Gaither and Laura Thomas.

He was preceded by his parents, Gaither and Laura Thomas; and brother, Douglas Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Lottis Griffin Thomas of Greensboro; daughter, Gretta Otts of Murfreesboro Tenn.; son, Bruce Thomas of Greensboro; sister, Alice Johnson of Greensboro; brothers, Fredrick Thomas and Ellis Thomas, both of Greensboro; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Herman United Methodist Church in Greensboro with the Rev. Tom Perry officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Herman Methodist Church or the Church Building Fund.
