Charles Elvis McCarter Jr., 54, of Forkland, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel.

Burial followed in Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing.

Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born Dec. 10, 1960, in Demopolis to Charles E. and Ester S. Townsend McCarter.

He was preceded by his father, Charles E. McCarter; and son, Daniel McCarter.

He is survived by his mother, Esther Sue Townsend McCarter; daughters, Shanna (Lee) Turner of Louisiana and Holly McCarter of Opelika; son, Christopher McCarter of Monroeville; sister, Sue (Mike) Perkins of Forkland; 4 grandchildren; and nephews, Reid Short and Rhett Short, both from Forkland.

Pallbearers were Bill McCarter, Kenny Phillips, Andrew Dixon, Lee Dixon, Jim-Bo Rhodes and William Ayres.
