Michael Eugene Gibbs, 48, of Uniontown, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6.

He was born May 24, 1966, in Jefferson County to Thomas Leon Gibbs and Bettie Mealer Gibbs.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bettie Mealer Gibbs.

He is survived by his father, Thomas Leon (Sarah) Gibbs of Uniontown; son, Brandon Michael (Kayleigh) Gibbs of Tuscaloosa; sister, Charlotte Ann Beach of Thomaston; step-sister, Sheila (Marvin) Holloway of Georgia; niece, Kristin Ann Beach of Tuscaloosa; nephew, William Bryant Beach of Demopolis; grandchild, Pierce Gibbs of Tuscaloosa; and step-niece, Faith Holloway of Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m. at the Uniontown Church of God with the Rev. Artie Plummer officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Gallion. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home Thursday and from 12-1 p.m. Friday.

Active pallbearers will be Tim Lawrence, Randy Gibbs, Jerry Osburn, Wade Osburn, Bobby Gibbs and Wayne Gibbs. Honorary pallbearer will be Donald Sullivan.
