Geraldine Barley Hurt, 86, a homemaker of Gallion, died Monday, Jan. 26, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 10, 1928, in Linden. She was a resident of Marengo Nursing Home and a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric F. Hurt; her parents, Val and Grace Barley; brother, Kenneth Barley; and sister, Bettie Lou Huggins.

She is survived by two sons, Frank (Barbara) Hurt and Gerald (Jerri) Hurt of Gallion, AL; daughter, Carol (George) Norris of Jefferson; four grandchildren, Darryl (Angie) Hurt of Gallion, Angela (Scott) Biggs, Jason (Amber) Hurt and Amy (Jim) Parr of Demopolis; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services were held at Linden Memorial Park on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Warren Huggins officiating.
