The Demopolis City Council is expected to appoint a new member to the Demopolis Board of Education during a special meeting Monday, April 27.

The seat becomes open after Ronnie O’Neal’s term expires at the end of this month. O’Neal declined being reappointed for another term.

During Thursday’s meeting, Olen Kirby joined the list of nominees, which now includes Gary Brown, Lucy Chu, Lee Pritchett, Chris Stewart, Chuck Smith, Hunter Compton and Kirby.
