Mary King Nelson, 80, of Demopolis passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Pensacola, Fla.

She was a homemaker and housewife; loved cooking for her family and doting on her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lillie King; husband, Raymond Nelson; sister, Carrie Jo Griffin and four brothers, Cecil King, Robert King, John King and Stanford Jones.

She is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Ann Griffin, Glenda Faye Kristiansen (Mitch McCulley) and Pamela Joan Compton (George); grandchildren, Joseph I. Griffin, III (Jessica), Michael J. Kristiansen (Micah), George Curtis Compton, Ashley Nicole Compton and Auston Ray Compton; three great-grandchildren, Jay Griffin, Addie Kristiansen and Hunter Kristiansen; one sister, Melanie King McDaniel (Johnnie); numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 7, 2015, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service began at 11 a.m. at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Charles Mitchell officiating. Interment followed at Barrancas National Cemetery.
