David Stephen Barnes, 53, died Sunday, July 12, 2015.
A memorial service for Mr. Barnes will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. A celebration of his life will be held following the service at the family home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, in Demopolis Memorial Gardens, Demopolis. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
Born in Demopolis on August 23, 1961, he was the third son of Margaret Joyce Lucas Barnes and the late Marion Lawrence Barnes.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Heidi Skinner Barnes; sons, Nathan L. Barnes (Jaqueline) and Christopher J. Barnes, all of Columbia; grandson, John W. Barnes; mother, Joyce Barnes of Demopolis; brother, Larry Barnes (Judy) and John Barnes (Melanie), all of Demopolis; brothers-in-law, James D. Skinner (Tabbitha), William N. Skinner and Steven B. Skinner; sister-in-law, Holly Swindle (William); and a number of nieces and nephews.
