With the list of superintendent candidates narrowed to only five, members of the Demopolis School Board will be meeting each of those candidates beginning Monday, July 20.
The names of all five candidates were announced during a school board meeting on Tuesday, July 14, by Linda Ingram of the Alabama Association of School Boards.
Now, each candidate will spend a day in Demopolis learning about the community and the schools. School board members will serve as host for these tours. Each day will end with interviews to be held at Rooster Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. These meetings are open to the public and residents may speak to the candidates during a meet-and-greet following the interview.
After the week of interviews, the school board will conduct reference checks on the candidates. Board officials said they hope to make an announcement of who will be hired by August 10.
