Demopolis High School soccer player and 2016 graduate Tony Velez has signed an athletic scholarship to attend the University of West Alabama.
Velez has been a member of the DHS soccer team for three years, playing the positions of striker and right wing.
“I love soccer and this scholarship means a lot because it allows me to continue playing the sport I love,” Velez said. “Playing at DHS and with Elite Soccer has prepared me for this next level.”
Velez is the son of Jose Antonio and Carol Velez. He plans to major in athletic training at UWA.
