Ola Catherine Griffith “Chug” Pruitt 86, of Demopolis, passed away April 3, 2017, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital. Services will be held 2 p.m.April 7, 2017, from First United Methodist Church in Demopolis with Rev. David Willis, Rev. Art Luckie and Rev. Rob Wynne. Burial will follow in Old Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Chug was born Nov. 6, 1930, in Demopolis to Eugene P. and Ola Alston Griffith.

Chug is preceded by her parents; husband, Elmer F. Pruitt; brother, John A. Griffith; and sister, Martha Ann Griffith Sumerlin.

She is survived by her daughters, Ola P. Ross and Ann P. (Bobby) Jackson; sister, Eugenia Belle Griffith Allen; brother, Eugene P. “Buddy” Griffith; grandchildren, Ola Frances Jackson, Martha Charlene Jackson, Laura Catherine Ross Davidson (Jeff), Jerald W. Ross and Janis Lenelle Grace; and great-grandchildren; Anna Caroline Davidson and Catherine Ann Davidson.

Pallbearers will be William Allen, Mark Riffe, Bill Meadow, Kenny Freeman, Ronnie Freeman, Jim Stanford, Jackie Poole and Payton Geary.

Honorary pallbearers will be Birthday Bunch, Bridge Ladies and Dancing Students.
