Ruth Raine Stewart, 88, a homemaker of Linden, died July 7, 2017 at Marengo Nursing Home.

Mrs. Stewart was born Jan. 9, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama to George Poe and Mattie Raine. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Janis) Stewart of Auburn, Alabama and Jerry (Paula) Stewart of Linden; daughter, Pam S. Jones of Linden; sister, Mattie Jean Hearns of Tampa, Florida; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Stewart Jr., and her parents, George Poe and Mattie Raine.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, July 9, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tony Antonelli officiating. Burial was in Linden Memorial Park in Linden.
