Thomas James Tucker, 89, of Linden died Oct. 15, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Tucker was born June 11, 1928 in Campground, Alabama to Thomas Jefferson and Willie Mae Tucker. He was a retired power house worker from James River Corp. and a member of Linden Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Barkley Tucker of Linden; son, Thomas James (LaJuana) Tucker Jr. of Deer Park, Texas; two daughters, Debra Tucker (Tim) Simmons of Moundville, Alabama and Cindy Tucker (Bobby) Miller of Linden; two sisters, Myrtle Brooks Fields of Sweet Water and Nell Tucker Barkley of Linden; six grandchildren, Chris Fitzhugh, Shane Fitzhugh, Tim Simmons, Clint (Beth) Miller, Brooke Miller, and Amber Tucker; and one great-grandchild, Rhett Lister.

Funeral services will be held at Linden Baptist Church on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m., with Dr. Billy Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Linden Memorial Park in Linden.

Active Pallbearers were: Clint Miller, Rhett Lister, Cliff Tucker, Wayne Tucker, Jeff Tucker, Dennis Barkley, and Don Huckabee.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Jimmy and Gerry Tate, Arthur and Linda Glass, and Bo and Pat Ward.
