Time to Share, Coming Together groups holding Thanksgiving, Christmas events

A Time to Share Productions and The Coming Together Organization (CTO) will each host charity events for the holiday season in November and December.

A Time to Share Productions will serve their annual Thanksgiving Dinner to the public at The Hope Hill District at 901 East Pettus St. in Demopolis on Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m. A Time to Share Productions welcomes monetary donations or supplies such as utensils, plates and napkins.

Victoria Coleman, who is the secretary of A Time to Share Productions, said that they have been hosting these dinners since 2007. They also plan on having more fellowship time at the dinner this year including “encouraging words and praise and worship.”

“It’s something we enjoy doing. We enjoy giving back to the community,” she said.

CTO will hold their 29th annual Give a Child a Wish Project on Dec. 17. Toys will be given out to approximately 600 gift-less children at the Demopolis Project Recreational Center.

CTO will also be having their 29th annual Christmas Feeding, in which they prepare and deliver dinners to 3,000 people in need, on Dec. 25 at Kora’s Place in Demopolis. The Christmas Feeding will provide hot, home-cook Christmas dinners to children, disabled individuals, the elderly and the incarcerated.

“This is our major fundraising project, and we solicit your continued support in this endeavor. We are asking for food or monetary donations to support this feeding program,” CTO President Willard Williams said.

Williams said that the help CTO has received from the mayor’s office and the city of Demopolis has been “astronomical”. He hopes to grow the organization even more in the future.

“We’re looking to become an annual giver where this program just becomes part of your giving,” he said.
