The Theo Ratliff Activity Center and Aletheia House are working together to host a career fair at the Ratliff Center on April 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Colleges and employers from all over Marengo County and surrounding counties will be there recruiting local high school students and the general public.

Colleges like Auburn University and Shelton State Community College will have booths at the career fair. Several companies will also have booths there, including Mercedes-Benz of Tuscaloosa.

“That’s one of the companies we’re most excited about,” said Edward Ward, director of the Ratliff Center.

Ward said that the career fair’s purpose is “seeking employment for residents in the area who are unemployed and seeking colleges for students with limited direction.”

According to Ward, the Ratliff Center has had one “pretty much just about every year.”

“It’s a great benefit for the community to have a career fair,” Ward said.
