Delivery driver shot during robbery

The Demopolis Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that led to a delivery driver being wounded.
Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese said the victim was making a delivery to Captain D’s restaurant Thursday at 3:54 a.m. The driver told police that a black male with a handgun met him at the back of the truck and demanded money. During the exchange, the driver was shot in the arm and the unidentified suspect fled the scene.
Police report the driver’s injury is not life-threatening. He was transported to the hospital.
DPD investigators are continuing to investigate and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police department’s tip line at 334-289-1475.
