William Ray Black, 78, formerly of Jackson, Alabama passed away Oct. 21, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Gallion.
Mr. Black was born Feb. 19, 1940 to William Thomas Black and Gene Miley Walters Black. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, carpentry, mechanic work and spent much of his time assisting family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jim Black and brothers, Larry Black and David Black.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Black (Jason) Haynes; grandchildren, Brittany Black, Kinsey Haynes; nephew, Richard (Laura) Martin and numerous other family members and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson with Wayne Jones officiating and Lathan Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson.
Pallbearers will be Jason Haynes, Larry Jones, Richard Martin, Chris Overstreet, Keith Overstreet and Bill Walters.
