Robert Lipscomb of Demopolis passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, at home.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, August 13, at 11 a.m. from St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Cemetery with Rev. Rob Wynne officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing.

Robert was born June 17, 1953, to Helen and Gaston “Tony” Lipscomb Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Louise “Elle Lou” Cassels and Elizabeth Whitfield “Betsy” Lipscomb;and a brother, Norman Winn Lipscomb.

Surviving Robert is his sister, Nathalie Lipscomb Taylor (Terry) of Forkland; brother, Gaston Joel “Boo” Lipscomb III of Demopolis; nieces, Lauren Kay Taylor of Portland, Maine and Helen Cassels “Vin”  Ambrose of Chesapeake, Virginia; great-niece, Elle Marie Ambrose of Chesapeake; and great-nephew, Jackson Birch Ambrose of Chesapeake.

Pallbearers were David P. Turner, Van M. Baty Jr., William James “Boo Boo” Dutton Jr., James Whitfield “Dusty” Bird Jr., James Whitfield “Whit” Bird III, and Broughton W. Rogers.

Honorary pallbearers were William H. “Billy” Traeger III and Woodford W. “Woody” Dinning Jr.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the church, 3918 Montclair Road, Birmingham, Alabama, 35213,or to the charity of your choice.
