The Whit Family Clinic Linden will begin serving the area on Sept. 16, accepting patients from birth to geriatric in need of family, acute or chronic care.

Services provided by the clinic will include procedures such as minor office surgeries, like suturing or biopsies, drawing blood, lab testing and administering flu vaccines. Basic lab testing will be performed in-house, and more complicated testing will be referred to Whitfield Regional Hospital.

“We have resources available to us from the hospital such as radiology, lab and hospitalist service,” CRNP Terre Moore said.

The Whit Family Clinic Linden will begin with three treatment rooms, but Moore said that in the near future all six rooms at the facility will be open for patients.

Because the clinic is a satellite facility of WRH, Moore said the clinic possesses a great referral base with the numerous specialists at the hospital, including a cardiologist and a telehealth nephrologist and neurologist.

Clinic staff will educate each patient in order to improve the overall health of the community.

“Our primary focus of our in-office education will be disease prevention, and we’ll also perform health screenings,” Moore said.

The clinic will be open Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is staffed with a medical director, a CRNP, RN, LPN and an office manager.

Dr. Keith Roberts will serve as the medical director of the clinic and will work on a rotating basis and as needed, and the rest of the staff will operate the clinic full-time. Dr. Brian Blackburn, an internal medicine physician, will also rotate Fridays with Moore from 1-6 p.m.

The Whit Family Clinic Linden, located at 1007 S. Main St., is a rural health clinic operated by Tombigbee Healthcare Authority. Appointments and walk-in are both welcome at the facility.

“Our staff has many years of experience, and we look forward to serving the community and providing quality healthcare,” Moore said.
