Three sergeants from the Demopolis Police Department, from left, Sgt. Richard Bryant, Sgt. Daryl Bowden and Sgt. Zack Fluker, recently completed a week-long FBI Summit. Approximately 100 officers from around the state participated in this year’s Southeastern Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar in Opelika, Alabama. This annual SLEDS conference provides strategies, techniques and principles on leadership and dealing with the community. For over three decades, this conference has given police officers a chance to learn from FBI instructors. This year’s summit was co-hosted by the Auburn and Opelika Police Department and the Lee County’s Sheriffs Office. Chief Rex Flowers attended this training in 2014 and stated that this training is an excellent opportunity to prepare executive leaders of the future.
