Linden Mayor Charles Moore informed the city council during its Nov. 19 meeting that the city’s bid for an office building on 8th Avenue that was used to house an Alabama Power location was unsuccessful. The city approved a $50,000 bid during an October meeting.

The bid came after the mayor and council members walked through the building, which is roughly 40×60 square feet. The council was considering the building for a possible future location of city hall.

Also at the meeting, Police Chief Robert Alston presented police reports for Dec. 1-17 and Council Secretary Bruce Ward announced that ChiLLy Fest is set for Dec. 13-14 and that Linden’s Holiday Open House is scheduled for Dec. 15.
