Domestic dispute leads to murder charge

A domestic shooting in Linden left one man dead and another facing murder charges.

According to Linden Police Chief Robert Alston, Josh Cannon, 36, and his girlfriend, Blakely Tart, were involved in a domestic dispute when Tart’s brother, Marshall Walker, intervened leading to him shooting and killing Cannon.

The incident occurred Wednesday, April 22, at the intersection of Abbot Street and Fifth Avenue.

Alston said additional details of the incident are not being made public due to the ongoing LPD investigation.

Walker was arrested by the Linden Police Department and charged with murder. He is being held at the Marengo County Jail without bond.
