During a Linden Board of Education meeting on Thursday, June 25, Superintendent Dr. Timothy Thurman discussed preparations for the fall school year.

The school system has purchased cleaning supplies for janitors for cleaning the school buildings. The school buildings are currently receiving their usual summer cleaning and will receive professional cleaning from ServPro afterward. The school system has also ordered no-contact thermometers, additional hand sanitizer for school nurses, and hand sanitizer dispensers. There will be 10 dispensers in each building, including one outside to use before entering.

Thurman has ordered 1,000 face shields for students and teachers in the school district. Wearing the face shields has not been mandated yet, but the Board will decide at the next meeting if they will make the shields mandatory. Face shields for the football team were ordered on June 25.
