Marengo County’s positive cases of COVID-19 has continued to climb and now stands at 364, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

The number of deaths related to the virus stands at 11 as of Tuesday’s update from the ALDOPH.  The number of people tested is 3,085.

Testing for the coronavirus continues to be available at Whitfield Regional Hospital.

The Rural Health Medical Program is offering testing at the Demopolis Health Center, 1502 Hwy. 80 East Unit A, on Wednesday, June 17, from 9 a.m. to noon. The RHMP will also be at the Uniontown Health Services, 330 Old Hamburg Rd., on Monday, June 15, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Cahaba Medical Care will hold a pop-up test site at the Marion Health Center, 303 Washington Street. Call  334-247-1006 for more information about this site.

Whatley Health Services is providing testing at the Eutaw City Hall on Thurday, July 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 205-614-6240 for more information about this site.

Tuesday’s updated COVID-19 data for surrounding counties includes: Sumter County has reported 304 cases and 13 deaths; Wilcox County has 325 cases and eight deaths; Greene County has 201 cases, nine deaths; Hale County has 367 and 23 deaths; Clarke County, 329 cases and six deaths; Dallas County is reporting 1,028 cases with 10 deaths; Choctaw County has 221 cases and 12 deaths; and Perry County is reporting 263 cases with two deaths.

Statewide the number of confirmed cases have more than doubled over the past month and now stands at 56,441 with an additional 841 probably cases. The number of confirmed deaths in Alabama has reached 1,136 with another 28 listed as probable.

The total number of Alabamians hospitalized as of Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. is 7,123. Presumed recoveries stand at 25,783.

Statewide, 528,275 people have been tested for COVID-19.

State and local officials encourage individuals and businesses to continue utilizing safety measures such as social distancing and facemasks to prevent spread.
