DCSS Modifies Rule for Virtual Students to Transition to On- Campus Learning

September 22, 2020– The Demopolis City School Board and School System Administrators are modifying the timeframe for virtual students to transition back to on-campus learning. The original date of January 4th is now October 19th for virtual students who wish to return to on campus instruction.

Parents who are interested in this transition must complete the Re-entry form, and submit it to the applicable school(s) by Friday October 2nd at 3:00 p.m. Re-entry forms are located at each school and the central office. After Friday, October 2nd, the next opportunity to move from virtual education to on-campus will be in late December. Below are additional details.

  1. Parents will need to complete a Re-Entry form on every student who is transitioning back by 3:00 on Friday, October 2nd.
    1. Forms will be available at each campus and the central office
    2. Forms will be available on each website beginning Monday, September 28th.

 

      2. Process for Returning Technology, Materials, and Supplies

    1. Technology, Materials, and Supplies will need to be returned to the applicable campus on Thursday, October 15th between 8:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. This includes:
      1. Chromebooks
      2. Hot Spots 
      3. Textbooks
      4. Workbooks
      5. Manipulatives
    2. Once Technology, Materials, and Supplies have been returned, they will go through a sanitizing process.
    3. Once Technology, Materials, and Supplies have been returned, students will receive their schedule/teacher(s) assignments 

 

       3. After 3:00 PM on October 2nd, the next transition period for VLA students to on-campus will be in late December.
