Henry F. Harrison, age 101 of Demopolis, Alabama died January 20, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Harrison was born January 25, 1919 to Austin and Mauda Philliips Harrison of Jasper, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Wayne Harrison, Reed Harrison, Jack Harrison, Wallace Harrison, and Leon Harrison; his sisters, Janice Harrison Fowler and Edna Mae Harrison Coonts; his wives, Velma Jean Nichols Harrison and Helen Lewis Bradford Harrison; and two sons, Donald (Don) Henry Harrison and James (Jamie) Austin Harrison.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Harrison Buck (James) and his stepson, Henri Bradford (Jan); 7 grandchildren, Kate Harrison, Matthew Harrison, Kelly Burke (Rebecca), Cody Burke, Joe Harrison, Rebecca Bradford Parkins (Ben), and Sarah Bradford; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Harrison was a graduate of the Arkansas Polytechnic College and the University of Arkansas; After graduation, he was employed by the Alabama Soil Conservation Service for 36 years. During his tenure, he received numerous awards for his dedication and promotion of resource conservation. His employment was interrupted by service in the US Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Bronze Star during World War II.

Mr. Harrison’s life was a life of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Demopolis, serving on numerous committees and as president of the Men’s Club Sunday School Class. As a member of the Rotary Club, he was elected a Paul Harris fellow.

Due to COVID 19 concerns, graveside services were held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Demopolis Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Bill Elwell officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Demopolis Chapel directing. Pallbearers were: Olen Kirby, David Freeman, Woody Collins, Henri Bradford, Joe Harrison, Kelly Burke and Randy Hale.
