William Henry Duke, Jr. age 78 of Demopolis, AL died February 16, 2021 at his home. He was born November 18, 1942 in Selma, AL to William Henry and Rebecca Duke. He was a retired lab technician from Citadel Cement Medusa Corporation. He was a member of Demopolis First United Methodist Church, Methodist Men’s Club, and the Disciples Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife, Clistie Sue Duke of Demopolis, AL; son, William H. Duke, III (Joyce) of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Rebecca Sue Smith of Demopolis, AL; and two grandsons, Marshall Duke and Daniel Duke.

Graveside funeral services were held at Riverside Cemetery on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bill Elwell officiating.

Active pallbearers were Kenneth McClure, Lloyd Hannah, Ed Newell, Thomas Bell, Harold Pack, Daniel Duke, Marshall Duke and Jimmy Nettles.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Keith Dismukes, Dale Speed, Mark Freeman, Jimmy King, Elizabeth Freeman, members of the Disciples Sunday School Class of Demopolis First United Methodist Church, and the staff of Southern Care Hospice.
