Nancy and Co. Fine Jewelers has been named the October Business of the Month by the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce. It is located at 113 W Washington St.

Nancy and Co. is a full service jewelry store with fine and fashion jewelry and a in-store jewelry repairmen. It has two locations in Northport and Demopolis. The Demopolis store is owned by Ivy Lowe and the store in Northport was the original store and is owned by Nancy Dawkins. Lowe said she and Dawkins opened the Demopolis store together three years ago.

Lowe said they opened the second store in Demopolis because there wasn’t a jewelry store before and she lived in Demopolis and had experience in the jewelry business.

“My parents had a jewelry business here, my ex husband’s parents had a jewelry business here,” Lowe. “And we just felt like it was something that the whole community needed.”

Nancy and Co. is committed to make every customer “feel at home” with their personalized service and classic to cutting edge jewelry designs. Their years of experience and services have built a legacy of integrity and trust with its customers. At Nancy & Co, the mission has always been a tradition of trust, high ethical standards, knowledge of jewelry products and services, fair pricing and value to its customers.

Nancy and Co. offers customers a wide range of designs to celebrate the important moments of their life. They offer engagement rings, bridal sets, matching bands and wedding bands, and other jewelry like pendants and necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.

When COVID-19 hit last year, Nancy and Co. were forced to shut down for two months and Lowe said it was a very tough time for them.

“It was tough being closed with no money coming in and having bills that still needed to be paid. “It was a very nerve-wracking time,” said Lowe.

To combat the problem, Lowe said they took to curbside service if someone called and said they needed an anniversary or birthday gift.

“Customers would tell us what they wanted, and we would snap a picture of it and send it to them. If that’s what they wanted, we’d wrap it up and they would pull up to the front and pick it up,” said Lowe.

Lowe said she is honored to have been chosen as the October business of the month and hopes that being chosen will bring in new customers to the store.

Nancy and Co. is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are closed on Saturdays except during Christmas, and are closed on Sundays.
