The Coming Together Organization recognized Marengo County Commissioner Freddie Armstead as an honorary member of their group. Armstead has been a long-time supporter of the organization and has volunteered with the group for 25 years.

“Fred has just been a resource for us to point us in the right direction for various types of contributions, as well as contributing to use and assisting us with our programs” said CTO member Thomas Moore. “We thought it would be fitting that we designate him as an honorary member.”

The CTO hosts two events each year in addition to other, smaller projects throughout the year. The group holds the back to school fun day for local students, and they also do the Give a Child a Wish event where they give gifts to children. The group also does their annual Christmas Feeding Project and this event will be held on Christmas Day at First Baptist Church.
