At the January 11 Marengo County Commission meeting, the liquor license for the Price Package Store/Magnolia Sports Bar and Grill was reinstated by the Commission after owner, Patrick Price and his attorney, Sean Fitz-Gerald assured that changes have been implemented to the business.

In June of 2021, Thomasville resident 17-year-old Travion Jackson was shot outside the establishment and later died at the Thomasville Regional Medical Center. On July 14, 2021, the Commission voted unanimously to revoke the liquor license of the business. The matter was then sent to the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board in Montgomery.

Price has made several changes to his business including setting an age limit of 25 to keep younger patrons from entering, changing operating hours to 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. The business will be closed on Sundays.
