On Friday, February 10, Double Key Realty and the Demopolis Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony declaring the business open. The business is located at 119 E Washington Street.

Attendees for ribbon cutting included the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce, Demopolis Mayor Woody Collins, Demopolis City Councilman Bull Meador, Aliquippa Allen of the Rural Business and Training Center and members of the press.

Owner Lashandra Cottrell said “she is glad to be in Demopolis and is glad to be a member of the community.”

“There is nothing I think I enjoy more than ribbon cuttings. It shows the vitality of our community and it shows growth,” said Collins. “We get nice people downtown and I love to see the downtown area growing.”

Double key realty is a real estate brokerage. It services a variety of clients like first-time home buyers, residential, sellers, new construction, and land investors. Cottrell’s business helps people with their real estate needs in selling or purchasing a home.

Cottrell is a Demopolis native and she opened her business here to help the people in the community she loves.

“I love Demopolis and the people that are here. I love the community and want to be able to bring forth my knowledge and expertise to the community to help as many people as possible to get into homes or accomplish homeownership in this area.

Cottrell has been a realtor since 2016.
