William Hughes Burk passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was born to parents David and Lisa Burk on Nov. 28, 2006. William was a senior at Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge and was known to his fellow students, friends, family and teachers as a funny, loving and joyful child.
William loved being at the beach with his family and being in the water. He especially loved dancing with his mom, wearing matching shirts with his dad, fast car rides, the sound of his sister Margaret’s voice, walks on windy days and loud music (Indie rock and grunge). William had a wonderful sense of humor and was beloved by everyone who knew him.
William is survived by his loving parents, David and Lisa; his sister, Margaret; John Burk (uncle) of Forney, Texas; David and Stephanie Neal (uncle and aunt) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Nicholas Martin (uncle) of Greenville, South Carolina; and many cousins and second cousins. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Hugh and Martha Burk of Demopolis, William Martin of Greenwood, South Carolina, and Margaret Martin of Greenville, South Carolina; his aunt, Bonnie Burk of Canton, Texas, and his uncle Jason Martin of Greenville, South Carolina.
