Charles William Glover (Bill), age 84, of Demopolis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, surrounded by family. He was born on December 17,1940, in Akron, Ohio, and lived a full, rich life centered around love, family and community.

Bill was a father to two children, Gwen Glover Ford (Craig Ford Jr.) and Michael Charles Warr (Kara Warr), and a grandfather to six: Jonathan Ford, Wells Dhionis (Alex Dhionis), Macon Warr, Hill Warr, Michael Warr, and Jude Warr. His home was always filled with laughter, wisdom, and the warmth of a kind and generous heart.

Bill dedicated much of his life to Gulf States Paper Mill, the military, and owned a variety of businesses before retiring. His most treasured time was at his church, First Baptist Church of Demopolis, teaching and participating with his Sunday school class. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew him. Whether through hands-on help or simply his words of advice, he was a pillar of support for all who sought his guidance.

In addition to his family, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he could build anything. He was a professional dart player and won awards all over the world. Later in life, he lived with a quiet dignity. He found joy in the simple moments, and always took time to appreciate the Bible, which he read and studied daily.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Lucille H. Glover and his father, William Charles Glover. He also had a sister, Joan Heffernan (Bill Heffernan). He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will continue to inspire his family for generations to come.

A service to honor Bill’s life was held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at First Baptist Demopolis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice or the construction fund for the new gym at First Baptist Demopolis.

He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

May he rest in peace.
