The West Alabama Action Group Inc. has been awarded funding from Alabama Power Company to assist the Greene County Career Center with transportation needs for off campus Dual Enrollment opportunities at Wallace Community College Selma in Demopolis.

Transportation has long been a challenge for students in rural areas. With this $750 grant, the Greene County Career Center gets a start at ensuring that students receive the resources and support necessary to make it to classes that can propel their future careers.

The mission of the West Alabama Action Group Inc. is to uplift communities across the region through education, workforce development, and economic empowerment. By addressing key barriers like transportation, the organization aims to open doors of opportunity for youth and adults alike.
