Mary Jean Dean, age 77, of Gallion died Thursday, February 13, 2025 at her home. She was born October 1, 1947 in Selma to Marion Elliot and Dorothy Dean Combs. She was a former employee with Vanity Fair and New Era. She was an avid reader with a sharp mind, a kind heart, and a humble approach to life. Jean enjoyed following current events, music and the Alabama Crimson Tide. She was a wonderful mother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Michael Combs, and her husband, Donnie Dean.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Dean; niece and nephews, Connie Reid, Chris Combs and Justin Combs; and great nieces and nephews, Ava Combs, Savannah Combs, Corbin Combs, Dustin Roberts and A.J. Reid.
Graveside funeral services were held at Demopolis Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 2 p.m. with Kelly Etheridge officiating.
Active pallbearers were Justin Combs, A.J. Reid, James Crawford, Donnie Cannon, Charlie Glass and Caleb Yelverton.
